How Mediamax created a stock photo agency platform with PhotoDeck

Mediamax is a leading provider of residential and commercial real estate photography in Colorado, USA, helping a large customer base market their listings with both stock and commissioned images.

As a photography agency, they provide systems, sales and marketing for their contracted photographers with a steady stream of photo shoot assignments.

An important new addition to Mediamax services is providing clients with hyperlocal stock images, while rewarding Mediamax photographers with royalties from the sale of their stock photography. Before PhotoDeck, “we had a loose collection of local stock images stored in a DropBox folder for situations when clients asked about specific neighborhood or community photos to help market their listings”, explains Mediamax owner Mark Schow.

To improve sales as well as their internal workflows, they needed a better solution. They settled on PhotoDeck to create and manage their Colorado Stock Images multi-contributor website:

“PhotoDeck was one of the only platforms we could find that allowed Mediamax to organize stock photos by photographer, maintain photographer attribution / copyrights and sell the images with systems to payout photographer royalties. PhotoDeck was also one of the only platforms we found that allowed us to display our large collection of stock photos in a mobile friendly, easy to use stock photography website.”

Using PhotoDeck’s multi-user and multi-library features allows Mediamax to let the photographers-contributors directly upload and manage their own images while maintaining security and confidentiality, freeing up administration resources and optimizing operational workflows.
